One of the most common questions before an appointment: "What would you recommend — microblading or Powder Brows?" The answer is always — it depends. No, that's not evasion. It genuinely depends on your brows, your skin, and what you want to get out of it.
Microblading — what it actually means
A hand tool creates tiny, hair-like strokes. The result looks very natural — as if every hair is real. People often can't tell it's permanent makeup.
Good for: dry or normal skin; those who already have good brow hairs and just need gaps filled; those who want the most natural possible look.
Not good for: oily skin. On oily skin, the strokes blur over time and can look unclear. In that case, Powder Brows hold much better.
Powder Brows — who it's suited for
A digital machine creates a soft, powdery effect — like eyeshadow, but permanent. It can be very natural or more defined — completely up to the client.
Good for: oily and combination skin; those with sparse or light brows; those who prefer a slightly more structured look.
Longevity: 2–3 years, which is longer than microblading.
Combo — when you don't want to choose
Hair strokes at the front, Powder Brows shading at the tail. A great compromise and often my personal recommendation.
The short version
If you're unsure and can't decide — most likely Powder Brows or Combo. They last longer, work for more skin types and look good in any case.
If you want maximum natural effect and have dry skin — microblading.
Before any procedure I do a consultation. We look at your brows, skin type, and you as a person — and then we decide together.
